python-optcomplete software package provides provide bash-completion for Python programs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-optcomplete
python-optcomplete is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-optcomplete package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-optcomplete *
You will get with python-optcomplete package name, version, architecture and description in a table
